Echostar-9 Repoint Project

The majority of all StarBand customers in the lower 48 will be moved from the current satellite (G-27) located at 129 west to Echostar-9 located at 121 west.

For the majority of those who will be repointed in the coming weeks, this process will be free of charge. Those with heavy tree cover or any other obstruction that requires moving the StarBand reflector for line-of-sight to E-9 will be billed for time onsite.

To avoid a potential loss of service, all StarBand customers will need to make sure that their StarBand account is not in default. All current accounts will be scheduled and completed prior to March 2010. Accounts that aren't finished by March could lose service until their repoint is completed. We're currently testing yet another new Satellite located at 123 west (G-18) for those who cannot see 121 west.

All Spacenet/StarBand accounts must vacate 129 west by March of 2010...

StarBand Nova 2000 Coming Soon!

For those who need the fastest consumer-grade speeds ever offered by Spacenet. Nova 2000 will provide download speeds up to 2.0 Mbps and upload speeds exceeding 256 Kbps. At last word, StarBand is expected to release this service during the 4th. quarter of 2009.
